John was born in 1394 at Lasingcroft, Yorkshire. His parents were Nicholas Gascoigne and Mary DeClitheroe.
On 10 Aug 1419 he married Isabella Heton in the North Riding Yorkshire.
Isabella born about 1398 was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Heton of Mirfield, Yorkshire. She died 13th August 1473.
