Gascoyne Family Tree

Henry was born on 3rd August 1843 and Christened on 1st October 1843 in Welney, Norfolk. His parents were John Gascoyne and Elizabeth See.

In the 1851 census the family are living at Coloney, Manea. Eliza See is actually John's aunt on his mother's side.

In the 1871 cesus Henry is still living with his parents at The Colony Farm House, Manea. Jonathan is married and living in Coveney, he is a farmer with 100 acres, with him are his wife Elizabeth and his sister Emma 14. Hugh is an apprentice blacksmith in Weney.

On 20 November 1878 Henry married Hannah Smart at the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Downham Market, Norfolk. Henry signed his name, Hannah made her mark.

 In 1881 census Henry was living with his family in Black Horse Drove, Littleport.

In 1891 census the family had moved to Ten Mile Bank, Littleport, and there was another son George aged 9 born in Benwick. Henry had progressed from an agricultural labourer to a farmer and employer.

In 1911 census Henry and Hannah are living at Black Horse Drove, Littleport in 5 rooms.
